Research that benefits children and families

If I had the abilities to research anything in this world, I would research childhood cancer.  It's the most depressing and disheartening image to see a young child battling cancer.  It seems so unfair to them and their families.  Finding a cure for childhood cancers would give young children their childhood back and their parents the pleasure of watching them grow and learn while being healthy.

Here is a link to a video of:

Parents of child with cancer video

Allow it a few seconds to load to the correct video.  There are also several more videos that follow this one as the parents discuss the journey from diagnosis to recovery. It's very touching and they are very thankful for the doctors and the research that had been done.

  1. Hi Maggie

I watched the video about the parents sharing the experience of handling the crisis of their daughter having a cancerous mass in one of her kidneys. Rather than the emphasis being on the disease, the emphasis was was on coping. They talked about how helpful the information they received from the Children's National Medical Center was. I am sure that the information they received was research based.

Thank you for the video. It was very insightful.

  2. Maggie,
Thank you for sharing the link. There were many videos to choose from that provided insightful information about parents/children's journey with cancer, etc. I found the one video I watched with the parents very emotional.
